Marin County Behavioral Health and Recovery Services (BHRS) is a Division of the Marin County Health and Human Services Department. At BHRS, we care for the whole person with compassion and respect for your cultural values. Our goal is to help you achieve and maintain long term health, wellness and recovery, and to foster healthy families and communities. BHRS provides outpatient, residential, crisis services, and hospital care addressing specialty mental health and substance use service needs of Marin Medi-Cal beneficiaries and uninsured residents.

Crisis Stabilization Unit

• 4 hours of coverage on Saturday, Sunday and holidays
• Flexible shift times; ideally 7:30am – 11:30am
• The Crisis team consists of RN, 2 Crisis Specialists and the Psychiatrist.
• Provide risk assessments informing 5150 hold decisions, medications, medical comorbidities, and psychiatric diagnostics
• Enhance the scope of weekend assessments and support the flow with increased weekend discharges or referrals to the Casa Rene Crisis Unit
• Flexibility to shape workflow based on clinical priority

Contra Costa Regional Medical Center is a full service county hospital and offers a complete array of patient-centered health care services delivered in a beautiful facility. Since 2008, we have provided a full range of psychiatric services at CCRMC including Inpatient, PES, Consult Liaison, Detention Facility, and Outpatient Behavioral Health.

Psychiatric Emergency Services

• 6-8 shifts per month
• 10 - 16 hours per shift (overnight)
• 18 bed unit
• Average Daily Census of 25-30

• Diagnosis and treatment of patients with mental, emotional and behavioral disorders
• Provide clinical consultation, training and support to staff regarding medical related issues

Santa Rosa Behavioral Health is a mental health treatment center for adolescents and adults. Treatment services include screening, orientation, assessment, treatment planning, crisis intervention, consultation, education, individual therapy and group counseling. The treatment team is led by a psychiatrist and often includes a licensed therapist, psychiatric nurse, activity/recreational therapist, clinical social worker, and mental health counselors. Santa Rosa Behavioral Health specializes in the treatment of co-occurring diagnosis; a combination of alcoholism/drug use and a behavioral health issue or a mental health disorder.

Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital - Santa Barbara, CA 

Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital is a non-profit, 519-bed acute care teaching hospital and trauma center. It is the largest of its kind between Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay Area. The hospital was founded in 1888 by 50 women determined to provide a healthcare facility for the growing community of Santa Barbara. We offer a comprehensive range of services to best suit our patients' needs and circumstances, including acute inpatient psychiatry and detoxification; residential alcohol, drug, and co-occurring disorders; rehabilitation; and several levels of outpatient treatment services in Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo. Our approach to care is integrative, family-oriented, and culturally sensitive. Treatment plans support each person's specific needs and include treatment modalities for dual diagnosis to address those with both psychiatric and chemical dependency needs.

• 20-bed inpatient unit

The Ventura County Behavioral Health Department (VCBH) provides mental health and substance use treatment services. VCBH plays an important role as an integrated component of the Ventura County Health Care Agency. VCBH provides support for individuals and families who are in crisis; people considering suicide; or those struggling with mental illness, substance use, or both. Ventura County Behavioral Health is committed to reducing stigma and discrimination. We promote wellness through a whole-person care approach where clients and families are empowered by appropriate, accessible, timely, culturally sensitive, and collaborative behavioral health services.

West County Detention Facility Service

• Treating patients in a clinic setting within the jail in Richmond, CA
• Coverage is 2 days per week 8am-6pm on-site
• Adults: 60 minutes for initial evaluations, 30 minutes for follow up
• Support from nursing to manage the schedule, triage patient requests, etc
• Support from a team of therapists
• Currently there are about 280 patient load who are seen usually every 1 - 3 months
