Addiction Services

  • Offer evidence-based psychotherapy and counseling services to support patients in their recovery journey, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and relapse prevention strategies.
  • Address co-occurring mental health concerns through integrated treatment approaches, collaborating closely with our team of mental health professionals.
  • Provide Specialty Mental Health Services for individuals with complex needs, ensuring comprehensive and personalized care.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary treatment meetings to ensure coordinated and holistic care for patients, including collaboration with addiction counselors, social workers, and medical providers.
  • Stay current with advancements in substance use disorder treatment and co-occurring mental health treatment through ongoing education and professional development.

Position Expectations

  • Performs standard psychiatric exams and medication management
  • Patients must be seen daily, and physician is to be onsite for the duration of their shift
  • Physicians lead treatment teams and are responsible for making optimal therapeutic and disposition decisions for John George Psychiatric Hospital patients
  • Physician will need to attend monthly (or as needed) departmental meetings
  • Physician will need to follow all bylaws and regulations of Med Staff
  • Completes documents such as admission notes and discharge summaries in a timely manner
  • Must be board certified (board eligible for new graduates)
  • Requires CA license and DEA
